Bulldogs beat Comets

New London soccer’s first week ends 1-1

The New London soccer team finished its first week of play with a 1-1 record in nonconference play.

After a 6-0 loss at Kaukauna in their season opener on March 29, the Bulldogs triumphed with a 3-0 victory over the Waupaca Comets on Friday, April 1.

During the first half, senior Brianna Dayton scored the Bulldogs’ first goal of the season and senior Marina Solberg kicked in the second goal with an assist by sophomore Shania Krake.

Solberg put in goal No. 3 early in the second half.

Waupaca goalie Taylor Korth saved 10 of New London’s 13 shots. Junior Liz Tank had three saves for New London.

New London has a trio of home games coming up at Bulldog Stadium. The girls face Little Chute on Thursday, April 7; Pulaski on Friday, April 8 and Seymour on Tuesday, April 12. All games begin at 6:30 p.m.
