Drone cruises over Hortonville

The village of Hortonville sent a drone over Main Street and Black Otter Lake on Monday, April 18, to capture aerial footage to be used in downtown revitalization efforts.

Photographer Gary Michael Arndt of Fox Valley Web Design and his employee Dakoda Sherman flew the drone.

Upon landing, the drone took a spill in the A&N Hortonville BP parking lot and broke a propeller, but it is replaceable.

The photos and video collected will be used by an architecture class at Northcentral Technical College in Wausau. The class is creating 3D models of what Main Street could look like years from now when the State Highway 15 bypass reroutes traffic and creates a more pedestrian-friendly downtown.
