Truckers cap week with win

More hits, but more errors against FVL

Fox Valley Lutheran and Clintonville split games in a doubleheader at W.A. Olen Park on Friday, May 6.

FVL won game one 6-3. The Truckers outhit the FVL Foxes 7-6, but FVL capitalized on six Truckers errors while committing none of its own to win. Pitcher Jaden Doornink took the loss.

Clintonville’s Hunter Vollmer went two for three.

In game two, Clintonville opened with nine runs in the first two innings for a 10-9 victory.

Clintonville hit a drought after inning two while FVL scored five runs during that time to tie the game. In the top of the eighth, Kyle Finger’s two-out RBI single lifted the Truckers over the Foxes.

Chad Bork picked up the win in relief, striking out four batters in just over two innings of work.

The Foxes outhit the Truckers 14-7. Colton Kluth went two for four for Clintonville.

Oconto Falls 14, Clintonville 4
OCONTO FALLS – Oconto Falls entered the bottom of the sixth inning with a 5-4 lead and erupted for nine runs to beat the Truckers on May 3.

Michael Manns had a grand-slam home run for Oconto Falls and his teammate Tyler Hagemeier had a three-run home run.

Colton Kluth went two for two for the Truckers, who scored runs in the third, fifth and sixth innings. Oconto Falls maintained a lead from the start.
