April was Volunteer Appreciation Month for Waupaca County Nutrition Site volunteers.
Every year the Iola Nutrition Site holds a luncheon to honor the volunteers who deliver the meals and work at the meal site. This meal was funded by contribution from the Iola Lioness Club.
Due to contributions from area businesses and individuals, every volunteer also received at least one gift card for either gas, groceries or a meal.
The Meals On Wheels drivers are not reimbursed for gas, mileage or their time when they deliver meals, nor are the volunteers that prep and serve the meals given any compensation.
