Road work delayed

Waupaca project rescheduled for Aug. 1

A project scheduled to take place Wednesday, July 27 on Waupaca’s South State Street is being postponed until Monday, Aug. 1.

The Waupaca County Highway Department and city of Waupaca are doing so due to concerns of possible rain showers the next few days, which would affect the application and life expectancy.

The highway department and city began pavement treatment on North State Street earlier this week.

The treatment process is designed to prolong the life of the street’s surface.

It is not an asphalt pavement resurfacing. It is a wet coating application, which quickly dries.

Residents are reminded the work will require the street to be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. when the work occurs.

Vehicles need to be out of the area during the closure and moved off the street before 8 a.m.

In addition, the departments ask residents to keep the street as clean as possible after it is swept.

The highway department is working with emergency agencies to inform them of the street closure.

If there is an emergency, the highway department will make sure emergency personnel and equipment are able to pass.

For more information, call the highway department at 715-258-7152 or the city at 715-258-4411.
