Police say a woman on probation for burglary and theft was arrested after heroin was found in her purse.

Karyn M. Gabrielson, 27, Waupaca, is charged with possession of narcotics.

On Aug. 9, Waupaca Police Officer Bret Rodenz went to a home on the 300 block of West Union Street with a warrant for a probation hold on Gabrielson.

According to the criminal complaint, Rodenz told Gabrielson she was being arrested. He then asked her if she had anything on her about which he should be concerned. She said no.

Gabrielson then threw her purse into a corner of the kitchen, the complaint says. Rodenz asked her if he should be concerned about anything in her purse. She again said no.

Rodenz then asked her to dump the contents of her purse on a counter, which included a syringe. Inside a pack of cigarettes, Rodenz reported finding a folded piece of aluminum foil with heroin in it.
