Fall Family Fest in New London

Wheels on Water Street this weekend

Cheese & Sausage, Fall Family Fest is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 9, with the sixth annual Wheels on Water Street Car & Cycle Cruise set for 5 to 9 p.m.
The New London Area Chamber of Commerce, New London Lions Club and the Wolf River Classic Chevy Club invite the public downtown to North Water St. on Friday evening.

Cheese & Sausage, Fall Family Fun continues on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown New London. New London Area Chamber of Commerce and Community First Credit Union are hosting the event.

There is no vehicle, motorcycle or spectator entry fee for those who want to display a classic vehicle or motorcycle. The event is open to all makes and models. Dash plaques will be given to the first 125 vehicles to enter. There is no pre-registration.

Vehicles and motorcycles line up starting at 4 p.m. in a staging area near the Dairy Queen on North Water St., with viewing of vehicles and motorcycles from 5 to 9 p.m. on North Water Street, in downtown New London.

A brief cruise will begin at 9 p.m. Vehicles and motorcycles will cruise the loop on North Water Street and Wolf River Avenue, and then disperse.

The event will also include raffles and guess at trivia as Yo DJ Entertainment – James Kelley, rounds out the evening with musical entertainment. The New London Lions Club will have food and beverages available for purchase – no carry-ins.

Spectators are reminded that no pets are allowed at an event with 100 people or more, per city of New London Ordinance.

Saturday starts with New London Parks & Recreation’s 5 K Walk/Run. New this year is the Bulldogs Character Dash. This free children’s race is sponsored by the Bulldog’s of Character. It will be a loop run, starting and finishing before the 5K and is free to all youth 12 and under. All children participating in the event will receive a free goody bag, post-race refreshments and a medal of participation.

A wide variety of vendor booths, produce and food stands will be open. Live music from multiple bands throughout the day will perform at the Christian music stage. Children’s performer Randy Peterson will also perform.

A kids pedal pull tractor event will also take place. For $1 kids can enjoy kids’ zone games, crafts, bounce house, the Magic of Gizmo and face painting by Hortonville’s Carl Mann. Returning to the Kids Zone area this year is the Fox Valley Herp Club – Hands on Reptile Educational Show that was a huge hit with all the children.

Also featured at the event for sample and purchase will be a variety of Wisconsin’s finest cheese and sausage manufactured locally.
