Miller, Ruth Ann

ruth-ann-millerRuth Ann Miller of Waupaca, age 82, moved on to the loving arms of her savior on September 9, 2016, peacefully in her sleep.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Ruth Ann was born on December 19, 1933 in Waupaca, Wisconsin, daughter of Louis and Ruth (Schulz) Rusch. Ruth Ann was an active member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waupaca. Ruth Ann was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and confidant to many throughout her life. Ruth Ann was a lover of all creatures, great and small. She will be remembered as a quiet giant – her patience and love for others radiated – as well as her amazing skill to quietly fill her coin purse with your quarter in a game of sheepshead or cribbage will not soon be forgotten. When Ruth wasn’t winning at the card table – she was showing off her moves to her loving husband Elmer Miller on the polka dance floor. Her greatest joy was having all of her family around the dinner table while celebrating life, together.

Ruth Ann is preceded in death by her son Larry O’Connor and is survived by and incredibly proud of her family: husband – Elmer Miller of New London; daughter – Betty Spooner of Waupaca, Alex (Leann) Miller of Weyauwega, Gail (Charles) Dallman of New London, Lisa (Donn) Howard of New London; grandchildren – Emily (Mark) Grabowski of Pewaukee, Erik (Jessica) Spooner of Pewaukee, Heidi (Jared) Burress of Mosinee, Jason (Amanda) Miller of Waconia, MN; Samantha (Jeff) White of Lake Du Bay, Amber Dallman (Marc Schwartzmiller) of St. Paul, MN; Amanda (Darrin) Mann of Waupaca, Erin (Jim) Darling of Waupaca, Melissa (Paul) Mittelstaedt of Weyauwega, Kelsie Howard of New London and Gage Howard of New London; great-grandchildren – Mia Grabowski, Grayson Spooner, Logan, Gavin and Addison Burress, Henry and Oliver Miller, Peter White, Fritz and Elsie Schwartzmiller, Garret and Greta Darling, Mack and Paul Jr. Mittelstaedt.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Waupaca. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 4 until 6 p.m. at Maple Crest Funeral Home in Waupaca, and again on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Graveside services will take place at 1:45 p.m. on Friday at Barton Cemetery in Waupaca. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be set up in Ruth Ann’s name.

A special thank you to Ruth Ann’s extremely supportive family and friends and the wonderful nurses at ThedaCare Medical Center-Waupaca especially Dr. Earl Anderson for comforting and caring for her until her passing.
