Comets tripped up in Clintonville

Three teams now tied for first place

Clintonville handed the Waupaca boys’ soccer team its first North Eastern Conference loss of the season Sept. 29.

Meanwhile, the Comets also handed Luxemburg-Casco a 4-3 loss Sept. 27.

Clintonville 4, Waupaca 2
Waupaca’s Seth Boldt scored both of Waupaca’s goals, one in each half.

Jordan Koeppen, Cesar Elias and Alejandro Golmar found the net for Clintonville as the Truckers scored twice in each half.

The loss dropped Waupaca into a first-place tie in the conference standings with the Truckers and Fox Valley Lutheran.

Waupaca 4, Lux-Casco 3
The Comets took a 3-1 lead into the second half and made it stand up against the Spartans.

Boldt scored three of Waupaca’s goals. Eugene Pliska also scored and Jack Snider and Dante St. Thomas each had an assist.

The Comets hosted Freedom Oct. 4 and will head to Marinette Thursday, Oct. 6, for a 4:30 p.m. matchup with the Marines.

Waupaca will then host Little Chute Tuesday, Oct. 11, before wrapping up the regular season two days later at home against Wausau West.
