New CEO at First National Bank

Rothenbach takes the helm in Waupaca

First National Bank selected James J. Rothenbach as its new president and chief executive officer.

“The Board of Directors was committed to a search that would result in selecting a leader with significant experience coupled with a strong background in community banking and is pleased that Jim Rothenbach has joined First National Bank as its president and CEO,” said Stephen Johnson, chairman of the board of First National Bank.

From 2010 through 2015, Rothenbach served as President and CEO for Fox Valley Savings Bank, Fond du Lac.

Previously, he was the regional president for Harris Wisconsin’s north region.

From 2001 through 2008, Rothenbach was with Ozaukee Bank, Cedarburg serving as its executive vice president before being named president and CEO in January 2005. Additionally, he served as president and CEO for Oshkosh Savings Bank and then the combined Fox Cities Bank.

His banking career started with a 20-year span with Bank One in West Bend and Stevens Point where he was named President and CEO in 1991.

“Jim is a seasoned leader that brings a wealth of experience in all aspects of community banking,” Johnson said.

Rothenbach earned a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University, is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking in Madison and the Graduate School of Commercial Lending in Norman, Olahoma.

Rothenbach assumed his new position with First National Bank effective Oct. 3.
