W-F students stage dark comedy

‘Arsenic and Old Lace’ opens Nov. 3

“Arsenic and Old Lace” is being presented at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3; Friday, Nov. 4; and Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Weyauwega-Fremont High School Auditorium.

Tickets are $3 for adults and $1 for students and are available at the door.

Molly Stillwell is directing the play.

“Arsenic and Old Lace,” by Joseph Kesselring, is being presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.

This 1939 classic is a dark comedy revolving around the Brewster family.

The hero, Mortimer Brewster, is a drama critic.

He deals with his family and local police in Brooklyn, New York, as he debates whether to go through with his recent promise to marry the woman he loves.

W-F High School’s cast features Taylor Price as Abby Brewster, Madison Fink as the Rev. Dr. Harper and Mr. Witherspoon, Matthew Zeichert as Teddy Brewster, Jack Siebert as Officer Brophy and Mr. Gibbs, Kimberly Gilbert as Officer Klein, Jenna Macijeski as Martha Brewster, Amanda Loehrke as Elaine Harper, Joshua Barnett as Mortimer Brewster, George Brunk as Jonathon Brewster, Camryn Hintz as Dr. Einstein, Josie Bosquez as Officer O’Hara and Taylor Flease as Lieutenant Rooney.
