Courtney Pelot, the 2016 Miss Wisconsin, will visit New London’s grade schools Dec. 19-20.

Miss Wisconsin will talk to students at the four elementary schools in the New London School District. The visit is sponsored by the New London Lions and Rotary Clubs.

The visit is open to the students and staff of the four schools only. Pelot’s tour schedule is as follows:

Dec. 19, 9:30 a.m.: Lincoln Elementary School.

Dec. 19, 1:30 p.m.: Parkview Elementary School.

Dec. 20, 8:45 a.m.: Readfield Elementary School.

Dec. 20, 10:45 a.m.: Sugar Bush Elementary School.

A recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in communication arts, Pelot is from Manitowoc and has family in Wisconsin Rapids.

Although this year’s state pageant was her first, she participated in the local pageant circuit for the past two years, competing for the titles of Miss Madison-Capital City, Miss Harbor Cities and Miss Green Bay Area. She became Miss Green Bay Area 2016 in January.

Miss Wisconsin is also the guest of honor at the Lions and Rotary Clubs annual Christmas party.
