Suehring, Allen Dale

Allen Dale Suehring, age 50 of Appleton, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016 at his home.

Allen was born December 20, 1965 in Clintonville, the son of Sandra (Sanders) Smith, Shawano, and Dale Suehring, Town of Grant. He was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Town of Grant, Shawano County. Allen spent his very early years with his family, but because of severe handicaps, he was placed in a state hospital. When the state hospital was closed in 2005, Allen’s brother, Michael, became his guardian and chose for Allen to be placed in the care of Homes for Independent Living, Appleton, WI. There, Allen lived in a wonderful home environment and received the best of care. Allen found pleasure in the simple things in life: visits from his family, the taste of birthday cake, watching cars pass by, and the feel of a cool breeze upon his face. Though Allen didn’t have the ability to communicate it, he was happy, well cared for, and loved.

God Sent to Me an Angel
God sent to me an angel,
it had a broken wing.
I bent my head and wondered
“How could God do such
a thing?”
When I asked the Father
why He sent this child to me,
the answer was forthcoming,
He said “Listen and you’ll see.”
“My children are all precious,
and none is like the rest.
Each one to me is special,
and the least is as the best.
I send each one from Heaven
and I place it in the care
of those who know my mercy,
those with love to spare.
Sometimes I take them
back again.
Sometimes I let them stay.
No matter what may happen
I am never far away.
So if you find an angel
and you don’t know what to do,
remember, I am with you,
love is all I ask of you.”
