Burglary, forgery charges filed

A Waupaca man is accused of stealing from his parents and stealing from a friend who gave him a place to live.

Jordan T.D. Schneider, 23, Waupaca, is charged with burglary, theft and felony bail jumping from a September 2016 incident; two counts of forgery and two counts of theft from a Jan. 4 incident; and with felony marijuana possession and obstructing an officer from a Jan. 22 incident.

Waupaca County Deputy Traci LaBrosse met with a woman residing on County Trunk E in Lind in early September. The woman said she believed her son entered her home through a basement window.

The mother reported two flat screen TVs and five collectible mirrors were missing.

When LaBrosse checked Leads Online, she found Schneider had pawned two TVs and the mirrors at two different pawn shops in Appleton and Grand Chute.

On Jan. 4, a woman living in Farmington told Deputy Andrew Thorpe that two checks, totalling $175, had been stolen. She said the checks were made out to and endorsed by Jordan Schneider.

According to the criminal complaint, the woman said Schneider had stayed at her residence because he was homeless.

Investigators say the endorsement on the checks matched Schneider’s signatures on county jail documents.

On Jan. 22, Deputy Pete Kraeger drove to the parents’ home on County E because he was had an active search warrant for Schneider’s arrest.
When he pulled into the driveway, Kraeger noticed a camper parked beside a detached garage. He also reported seeing Schneider running east into a nearby wooded area.

Kraeger yelled at Schneider to stop, then radioed dispatch.

The deputy followed Schneider’s footprints through the snow and reported finding him about 100 yards away, on his stomach behind a woodpile.

Schneider told Kraeger he was staying in the camper.

Kraeger reported finding drug paraphernalia and marijuana in a backpack when he arrested Schneider.

Schneider remains in custody on a $1,500 cash bond.
