Krause, Jane Marion

Jane Marion Krause, 74, of Clintonville, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, February 18, 2017 at the Shawano Health Services skilled care facility.

Jane was born January 9, 1943 in Shawano. She was the fifth of the six children of Edward and Hazel Woodke, and grew up in Gillett, WI. She inherited a love of horses from her father, and spent much of her childhood riding and tending to them, in addition to doing chores on the family farm. In 1956, she met Gerald (Jerry) Krause, who attended the same grade school. Jane was a standout student at Gillett High School, graduating early, in December of 1960. She was a musician in the school band, and an excellent cook and homemaker, receiving the Betty Crocker Award twice from the FHA. She enjoyed helping people, and had a strong interest in the health care profession. Jane and Jerry were married March 18, 1961 at the Tabor Methodist Church in Gillett. After the birth of their two children, they moved from Gillett to Clintonville in the spring of 1966. Jane took a job as a Nurses Aide at Clintonville Community Hospital later that year. In 1973, she left the hospital to accept a clerical/secretarial position at WTCH radio in Clintonville. She returned in 1977, taking a job as a pharmaceutical purchasing agent. She later became manager of the hospital pharmacy, and continued in that role until the hospital closed in 1993. She then worked at both the Theda Care and Affinity Health clinics, completing 38 years of health care service in Clintonville with her retirement in the summer of 2008. While raising her two sons, Jane embraced the life of a working wife and mom, making many lasting friendships within the Clintonville community. She enjoyed attending Clintonville Trucker sporting events, and was a league bowler for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, and enjoyed doing volunteer work for the church. She was also a shareholder and lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers, and loved attending games at Lambeau Field. Her four grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she made many trips to suburban Chicago to visit them in recent years.

She is survived by: her son Richard, and his wife Karen, of Orland Park, IL; four grandchildren: Stephen, Mark, Erik, and Maria Krause; one sister, Mary (Jerry) Bubolz, of Fresno, CA; one brother-in-law, James (Gloria) Krause of Clintonville, and two sisters-in-law, Mary Woodke of Gillett, and Sandra Ostrowski of Round Lake Park, IL; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jerry in 2010, and son Rodney in 1983. Also by sisters, Julie Woodke and Nancy Zinzer, and brothers, Robert and William Woodke.
