Drillsam, Marlene A.

Marlene A. Drillsam, age 81, of Waupaca, passed away peacefully with family at her side, on Sunday, February 26, 2017.

She was born in Milwaukee on May 9, 1935 to the late Carl and Edith (Brunelli) Ebli. She was raised in the Milwaukee area, and graduated from Messmer High School. Marlene was united in marriage to Wally Drillsam in 1956 and he preceded her in death in 1979. She later married Darrell Cornell. Marlene was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church where she participated in many activities and served on numerous committees. Her commitment to helping others included acting as president of the Ladies Auxiliary at King and serving as treasurer for District 8 of the American Legion. Marlene would often be seen driving her 1965 red Mustang convertible. She and Darrell belonged to the Wisconsin Chapter and the Central Wisconsin Model A Club and enjoyed many trips in their cars. Marlene’s other favorite activities were bowling and going to the casino.

Marlene is survived by her husband, Darrell; children: Vicki (Rick) Vigo of Milwaukee, Christine Drillsam of Cedarburg, Carol Drillsam of Oconomowoc and David Cornell of Seattle, WA; two grandchildren, Eric (Erin) Vigo and Carrie Vigo; a brother, Ron (Diane) Ebly of Brookfield; two nieces; as well as other relatives and many friends.

The memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2017 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, with Fr. Amalraj Roche officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated towards St. Mary’s social wing. The Maple Crest Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
