Public information meeting March 2
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will hold a construction information meeting to discuss this year’s reconstruction of State Highway 22 (Main Street) between 13th Street and State Highway 156, in Clintonville.
The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 2, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Community Center, 30 S. Main Street in Clintonville. The reconstruction of WIS 22 is currently scheduled to begin as early as Monday, March 13.
Peters Concrete Company is the prime contractor for the $4.5 million project. Improvements include:
• Pavement replacement
• Reconstruction of the WIS 22/WIS 156/Green Tree Road intersection, including extended sidewalk and four-way stops
• New storm sewer, curb and gutter, sidewalks and streetlights
• New water main and sanitary sewer systems
Crews plan to close WIS 22 to all through traffic in late March. Traffic will be detoured via Seventh Street, N. Lyon Street, E. 12th Street, SSGT Warren Hansen Drive and WIS 156.
From mid-June through mid-August, crews will also close WIS 22 between WIS 156/Green Tree Road and Autumn Street. During this closure, WIS 22 traffic will be detoured via 7th Street, N. Lyon Street, East 12th Street, SSGT Warren Hansen Drive, WIS 156, Industrial Avenue and Autumn Street.
All work is scheduled for completion in late October. The schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions and construction status.
Eighty percent of the project will be paid with federal transportation funds. The remaining 20 percent will be paid with state transportation funds. One hundred percent of the city water main and sanitary sewer systems will be paid with local funds.
