Fischer on all-conference first team

Five area players earn honorable mention

Three area players are first-team selections on the Central Wisconsin 8 Conference all-conference girls’ basketball team.

Iola-Scandinavia senior Leighten Fischer made the first team as a guard, while Amherst senior Kendra Dombrowski and junior Heather Pearson made it as a forward and center, respectively.

Area players on the second team are Amherst sophomore guards Grace Moe and Ashley Groshek.

Honorable mention players include Manawa sophomore guard Laynie Bessette, Manawa senior guard Haley Reierson, Weyauwega-Fremont junior guard Kiley Akey, Iola-Scandinavia senior guard Kendall Johnson and Weyauwega-Fremont senior forward Hailey Krause.

Guard/forward: Tina Ubl, junior, Shiocton.

Center: Heather Pearson, junior, Amherst.
