Danielson, Evelyn

Evelyn Anita Danielson, age 102, of Iola, WI, died Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Iola Living Assistance.

Evelyn was born on March 19, 1915, daughter of the late Louise (Peterson-Nygaard) and Oscar Twetan at their farm home in the township of Scandinavia, Wisconsin. Evelyn attended rural Torgerson School and graduated from Iola High School in May 1932. In 1933, Evelyn married Milo Johan Olson at Waupaca Danish Lutheran Church. They resided at their home at 460 S. Main Street in Iola. For many years, Milo and Evelyn enjoyed family travel and camping with their mobile travel trailer. Evelyn assisted her husband at their store, Olson Hardware, 180 N. Main Street, Iola, until Milo retired in 1972. Milo died December 5, 1985. Evelyn A. Olson married Aldo H. Danielson at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Iola in 1988. They enjoyed their garden and took many trips together. Evelyn enjoyed baking, writing and simple card games at home. Aldo died on January 14, 2013. Evelyn was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, the Esther Circle, and the Curatorial Committee for the preservation of the heritage of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. She was a past member of Magnet Rebecca Lodge of Iola and the Eastern Star Lodge of Waupaca. She was also a member of the Iola Historical Society. Evelyn recorded annual family history. She compiled a book of their family history entitled “That’s The Way It Was”.

Survivors include: three sons: Dr. Carter L. (Reta) Olson, Gordon T. Olson, and Wayne M. Olson; seven grandchildren: Eric (Maria Theresa) Olson, Carl (Tiffany) Olson, Ann Marie (Michael) Blanck, Alex (Sarah) Olson, David (Megan) Olson, John (Silvia) Olson, and September (Anthony) Menzia; 15 great- grandchildren: Maanasi Naik Olson, Rehana Naik Olson, Noah Olson, Quinn Olson, Madeleine Olson, Loghan Olson, Chloe Olson, Phoebe Olson, Easton Olson, Gabriel Peters, Sophia Olson, Katherine Olson, Rowen, Raphael and Lorelei Menzia. She was preceded in death by grandson, Benjamin Olson, sister, Frances and brothers, Chester and Orin Twetan.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Iola, Wisconsin with the Rev. Marcia Sabin officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Iola, Wisconsin. Register Book and online condolences at www.voiefuneralhome.com
