Q&A with Coach Stacey Van Domelen

Clintonville softball coach Stacey Van Domelen previewed the 2017 season in eight questions.

Number of years coaching the team: This is my second year coaching the Clintonville Truckers softball team.

Returning varsity athletes: Here is a list of my key returners: Savannah Harbath (11), Sasha Carrillo (10), Dakota Watson (11), Allison Stueck (11), Melany Lorge (11) and Autumn Clark (11).

Team goals/expectations: As a young team, we are striving to continue to grow throughout the season. We have set our goals high and will look to pick up a postseason win in late May. In the first few weeks of practice, the team has been working hard and we have already seen great improvements as a team. We are excited to get out onto a field to play against our competition.

Team’s strengths: This year, we have a very coachable team. They are working hard and will continue to learn and grow as the season continues.

Team’s weaknesses: We are a very young team with not a lot of experience at the varsity level.

What you want your athletes to get out of this season: As coaches, we have been striving the importance that our girls have fun while also working hard to learn something new to improve all aspects of their game. We have set our goals high and will strive to improve every day.

Why fans should be excited for this team: This team is a very young team with a lot of talent and potential. Our fans should be excited to watch this team learn and grow as the season continues. We will continue to work hard day in and day out in both practices and games.
