W-F boys, girls win Len Rohde Open

Fischer, Kisting win two events for I-S

Weyauwega-Fremont’s track team swept the Len Rohde Open May 4.

Team scores for the boys were Weyauwega-Fremont (224), Amherst (129), Iola-Scandinavia (55), Almond-Bancroft (40), Wolf River Lutheran (37) and Port Edwards (6). Team scores for the girls were Weyauwega-Fremont (210), Iola-Scandinavia (164), Port Edwards (48), Amherst (37), Wolf River Lutheran (19) and Almond-Bancroft (11).

W-F won three of the four girls’ relay races. Becky Schroeder, Marissa Mason, Hannah Sroka and Anna Bubolz won the 400 in 54.72; Haley Dearth, Natalie Schneider, Sroka and Kaitlyn Monty turned in a time of 1:56.27 to win the 800; and the 3,200 went to Morgan Monty, Kaitlyn Monty, Mikyla Reeck and Abby Wheaton in 11:39.54.

Other firsts for the Indians went to Sroka, pole vault and long jump (7 feet and 15 feet, 4 inches); Schroeder, high jump (4 feet, 10 inches); Katie Loehrke, discus (89 feet); Katie Bleck, 100-meter hurdles (19:13); Jacob Hablewitz, 800-meter run (2:19.6); Jacob Carroll, 110-meter hurdles (19.72); Kyle Loehrke, discus (112 feet); Justin Kempf, pole vault (9 feet); and the boys’ 400 relay team of Payton Magdanz, Drew Vandervest, Matthew Fritts and Hunter McClone (47.73).

Leighten Fischer and Erika Kisting won two individual events for Iola-Scandinavia. Fischer won the 100- and 200-meter dash (13.37 and 27.42), while Kisting won the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs (5:20.67 and 11:37.7).

Other firsts for the Thunderbirds went to Jada Beacom in the 800-meter run (2:37.46); Makenna Brown in the 400-meter dash (1:04.03); Payton Wester, triple jump (30 feet, 7 inches); Jalen Block, high jump (5 feet, 6 inches); the boys’ 800 relay team of Kyle Beske, Will Cady, Block and Erik Kriewaldt (1:42.19); and the girls’ 1,600 relay team of Kisting, Beacom, Brown and Fischer (4:25.48).
