Irish win Waupaca meet

Orr wins boys’ discus event

Five first-place finishes helped Freedom win the boys’ championship May 13 at the North Eastern Conference track meet at Waupaca High School.

Meanwhile, the Freedom girls also returned with a title after placing first out of 10 teams.

Blake Orr turned in Waupaca’s only championship by winning the boys’ discus event with a throw of 137 feet.

Other top performances for Waupaca included Brandon Anderson, third, triple jump, and fourth, boys’ 100-meter dash; Mark Kilcoyne, third, boys’ shot put; Avrey Simonson, third, girls’ triple jump; the boys’ 3,200-meter relay team of Hunter Smith, Caleb Studzinski, Colby Nimmer, Forrest Ziebell, third; the boys’ 800-meter relay team of Derrick Rotta, Brad Moloney, Alex Orr and Terry Schmidt, fifth; Moloney, sixth, pole vault; and the girls’ 3,200-meter relay team of Mya Snyder, Alyssa Schroeder, Sarah Shambeau and Karina Lisogor, sixth.

Team scores for the boys were Freedom (181), Luxemburg-Casco (104), Little Chute (100), Fox Valley Lutheran (65), Denmark (64), Marinette (53), Waupaca (46), Oconto Falls (42), Wrightstown (39) and Clintonville (7).

Team scores for the girls were Freedom (141), Fox Valley Lutheran (107), Little Chute (104), Marinette (90), Wrightstown (64), Clintonville (57), Luxemburg-Casco (56), Oconto Falls (53), Waupaca (15) and Denmark (14).

3,200-meter run: Luke Vosters, Freedom (10:25.36).

110-meter hurdles: Sam Larson, Luxemburg-Casco (14.88).

300-meter hurdles: Sam Larson, Luxemburg-Casco (40.48).

400-meter relay: Little Chute (Devin Plate, Troy DeBruin, Kyle Hietpas, Adam Hietpas), (44.1).

800-meter relay: Denmark (Noah Bielinski, Wyatt Gezella, Sawyer Alexander, Noah McMonagle, (1:32.12).

1,600-meter relay: Freedom (Luke Pingel, Brody Bazile, Dwight Green, Devin Baumgart), (3:31.47).
