Chargers sweep Thunderbirds

Wittenberg-Birnamwood swept Iola-Scandinavia’s volleyball team Sept. 14 in a Central Wisconsin Conference East Division match in Iola.
After dropping the first two games 25-18 and 25-14, the Thunderbirds came from behind to get within one point in the final match before the Chargers scored the final point.
MacKenzie Kielblock served the ball for Iola-Scandinavia, but after a short volley, W-B tipped the ball over the net to take the third set 25-23.
Bryanna Kisting and Payton Wester led the T-Birds with five points each, followed by Erin Charles with four. Wester also led the team with four assists and two blocks.
