Glodowski runs for 322 yards, four touchdowns

Thanks in part to Marcus Glodowski, the Amherst football team has assured itself of at least a share of a fourth straight conference championship.
The senior quarterback ran for 322 yards and had a hand in all five of the Falcons’ touchdowns Oct. 6 in a 32-12 Central Wisconsin Large Conference win over Iola-Scandinavia at Thunderbird Field.
Glodowski found the end zone four times and added a touchdown pass.
The Falcons scored on their first two drives on Glodowski’s runs of 3 and 76 yards.
Iola-Scandinavia quarterback Connor Kurki scored on touchdown runs of 27 and 15 yards. His second score and a successful two-point conversion tied the game at 14-14 with 1:19 to go in the first half, but Glodowski drove Amherst down the field and connected with Carter Zblewski for a 15-yard touchdown pass with 5.5 seconds remaining before halftime that gave the Falcons a 20-14 advantage.
Glodowski was the only player to score in the second half on runs of 45 yards in the third quarter and 6 yards in the fourth quarter.
Bryce Huettner led the T-Birds with 122 yards, but the Falcons outgained I-S 397-201 on the ground and 33-6 through the air.
Both teams had already qualified for the WIAA playoffs and will wrap up the regular season Friday, Oct. 13. The T-Birds will head to Weyauwega-Fremont, while the Falcons will host Wittenberg-Birnamwood. Amherst can wrap up the conference title outright with a win over the Chargers.
