Higgins, Anita E.

Anita E. Higgins, age 85 of Clintonville, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 24, 2017 at Care Partners Assisted Living, Clintonville.

Anita Esther Higgins was born November 13, 1931 in the Town of Belle Plaine, Shawano County, daughter of the late Edgar & Esther (Ehmke) Zwieg. She graduated from Shawano High School in 1949. Anita was united marriage to Charles J. Higgins on June 15, 1957 at St. Martin Lutheran Church in the Township of Belle Plaine, Shawano County. She worked at FWD Corp in Clintonville as an accountant until her retirement. She was an active member of St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville. Besides her love of collecting owls, Anita was an avid Packer fan, enjoyed many years of bowling with friends, and loved spending time with her many nieces and nephews.

Survivors include: Sister: Delores (Russel) Piehl, Oshkosh; Sister-in-law: Shirley Wilke, Clintonville: Brothers-in-law: James (Shirley) Gutt, Bowler; Darwin (Shirley) Higgins, Clintonville; Bob (Eunice) Higgins, Embarrass; & Terry (Marge) Hagan, Clintonville. Along with numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; a brother, Robert Zwieg & sisters, Vernice Schmidt, Erna Koehler, Hildegard Kersten, Lillian Gutt, & Helen Higgins.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, October 28, 2017 at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville with the Rev. Brian Weber officiating. Inurnment will take place at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville at a later date. Friends may call on Saturday at the church from 9 AM until the time of the service.

Anita’s family would like to thank the staff at Care Partners along with the caregivers at Compassus for the wonderful, personal care she received.
