Zemlock, Jeannette Esther

Jeannette Esther Zemlock, age 98, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on November 14, 2017.

She was born on July 11, 1919 in Kenosha. Jeannette was a devoted Christian. Her life was centered on her love of God and love of her family. Her faith was the guiding force in her life. She also loved nature and animals. Late in life, she became an accomplished painter, choosing landscapes and still life as her subjects. Jeannette was incredibly kind and loving, touching the lives of everyone she encountered. An eternal optimist, she down played the negative and emphasized the positive. This surely contributed to her long life.

She is survived by her daughters: Christine (Bruce) Fenner of Brentwood, TN; Deborah (Bernhard Burgener) Zemlock of Alpharetta, GA; Kathryn Zemlock of Waupaca; son: Peter (Barb Killoren) Zemlock of Bozeman, MT; granddaughter: Erin Fenner of Charlotte, NC; brother: Rev. Rollin Reim of CA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Charles “Charlie” M. Zemlock; her parents, Rev. Edmund and Selma Reim; her brothers, Rev. Robert Reim and Rev. Norbert Reim.

Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1120 Evans St., Waupaca, WI 54981 or Waupaca Humane Society, 2293 Commercial Dr., Waupaca, WI 54981 A private graveside service will be held at a future date. Friends may stop at Jeannette’s home at 18 Shadow Woods Lane, Waupaca on Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 1 until 4 p.m. to share memories and pay respects. The Maple Crest Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
