Karen R. Johnson, age 74, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at ThedaCare Medical Center in Waupaca, WI.
She was born March 29, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI, daughter of Lewis and Lucille (Erdman) Friesner. On December 24, 1994, Karen married William “Bill” Johnson in Pewaukee, WI. She will be dearly missed by all of her loving family and friends.
Karen is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Johnson of Ogdensburg, WI; three children, Mark (Sue) Schroeder of Lake Havasu, AZ; Pam (Tommy) Schloesser of Waukesha, WI, and Mark “Rodney” Wigman, III of Sussex, WI; two stepchildren, William (Linda) Johnson of Waukesha, WI and Christyne (John) Schmelebeck of Mayville, WI; grandchildren, Kayla, Michael “Rodney”, Savannah, and Sarah; step-grandchildren, Brandon and Brittany; two sisters, Kathy Kelly of Chilhowie, VA and Judy Kay (Joseph) Gouthro of Milwaukee, WI; and one brother, Lewis Friesner, Jr. of Milwaukee, WI. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews (who knew her as “Nanny”), other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Lucille Friesner, and a sister, Cheryl Hunt.
A Funeral Service will be on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI. Reverend Leon Leeds will officiate. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at the Holly Funeral Home. Burial will be at Salem (Swede) Cemetery in the Town of Farmington following the service on Thursday. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
