Another meth bust

Police say they found crystal meth in the car of a sleeping driver.

Shawn G. Fink, 30, Birnamwood, is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At 10:23 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, Waupaca County Deputy Pete Kraeger was dispatched to the E5900 block of County Trunk S in the town of Dupont.

A 911 caller had reported finding a man asleep in a car with the engine running.

When Kraeger arrived he found a vehicle facing west in the ditch of the eastbound lane.

According to the criminal complaint, the driver was slumped over and appeared to be passed out.

Kraeger banged on the passenger side window, startling the man awake.

The driver, identified as Fink, had bloodshot eyes, but denied he had been drinking.

Fink reportedly admitted to smoking meth the previous night.

Fink then handed Kraeger a cloth zipper bag with several small plastic bags that had hard rock crystals.

The crystals later tested positive for methamphetamine.

Fink faces up to three years in prison if convicted for possession of meth. He was released from custody on a $2,000 signature bond.
