Felony OWI charged

A blood test indicated a blood-alcohol content nearly three times the legal limit.

Todd A. Herrmann, 57, New London is charged with a fourth drunken driving offense.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. on Oct. 4, New London Police Officer Brody Erickson stopped a vehicle on Burton Road after observing it cross the centerline.

The driver, identified as Herrmann, reportedly said he had been drinking whiskey and cokes at a friend’s home prior to driving.

A subsequent blood test indicated that Herrmann had a .234 BAC, according to the criminal complaint.

He was convicted of drinking and driving offenses in December 1998, April 1999 and May 2000.

Herrmann faces up to six years in prison and $10,000 in fines if convicted of a fourth offense.
