Cold shooting for Waupaca led to a 25-5 deficit in the first half, but the Comets ended the half with a 12-2 run that cut Berlin’s lead to 32-24 at the break.

Emma Smidt’s basket to open the second half made it a six-point game, but the Indians responded with a 10-3 run and Waupaca never got closer than 11 points the rest of the way.

Mya Johannes and Smidt led the Comets with 16 and 11 points, respectively. Berlin’s Myah Jodarski led all scorers with 17 points, while Mari Beltran and Mackenzie Kurczek added 14 each and Kara Block scored 12.
