The Iola-Scandinavia School Board announced Ray Przekurat has accepted the permanent position as district administrator.

“In his six months as interim district administrator, he has developed strong relationships within the school and community,” board member Kristen Hoyord said. “Notably, Ray has moved our district strategic plan forward.”

According to Hoyord, in 2013 the board identified a need for a strategic plan outlining its goals, objectives and specific implementation strategies.

“This was never fully accomplished,” she said. “In his short time here, Ray has finally led completion of this important task. After a thorough evaluation of his progress to date, the board enthusiastically offered Ray the position. We are excited to see what the future holds for Iola-Scandinavia and are well positioned for a bright tomorrow.”

Przekurat was initially hired as the interim district administrator, effective July 1, 2017, filling a position previously vacated by David Dyb.

Przekurat said he feels at home.

“I am extremely happy and blessed that the board has offered me a contract,” he said. “My main goal has always been to be part of the Iola-Scandinavia School District. The past couple of months, the board, staff and community have been very welcoming and helped me feel comfortable in my position. I look forward to developing a strategic plan for the future and to continue to move the district forward.”
