Battle of the Bulge remembered
Program sponsored by Waupaca VFW
“Remembering the Battle of the Bulge” will be presented at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, in the lower level of the Holly History and Genealogy Center.
Eric Percy, a local historian and re-enactor, will discuss the Battle of the Bulge and its role in the end of World War II.
More than 70 years ago American soldiers were entrenched in a battle with German forces in northern Belgium that the Germans called “Operation Watch on the Rhine.”
The battle, now known at the Battle of the Bulge, was the largest fought on the Western Front and marked the last major offense for the German forces.
The program and refreshments are sponsored by Waupaca VFW Post 1037.
