Forgery charges filed

Police say a 44-year-old man stole $1,300 from his grandmother.

Bradley A. Bricco, 44, Clintonville, is charged with three felony counts of forgery uttering and one count of misdemeanor theft.

On Dec. 3, 2017, Clintonville police met with a woman who said her grandson, identified as Bricco, stole some of her checks and used them at area stores.

She said she discovered checks missing from the back of her checkbook, then learned her debit card had also been used to take about $1,300 from her account.

She said Bricco had been living with her in November when the checks were taken.

In late November, the woman called Bricco and confronted him about the stolen checks and the money stolen from her account.

She told police Bricco said he would pay her back. She gave him until Dec. 2 to pay her $1,000 or she would contact law enforcement.

On Dec. 2, Bricco told his grandmother she could get her money at the Wal-Mart. When she got there, she discovered he had left her only $400.

She said Bricco had not answered his phone or returned her calls since then.

A warrant was issued for Bricco’s arrest on Jan. 30.
