Miles, Roberta “Bobbi” L.

Roberta “Bobbi” L. Miles, age 67, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Crossroads Care Center in Waupaca.

She was born in River Falls, WI on October 22, 1950 to Don and Bonnie (Carter) Miles. She was a devoted and proud daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, affectionately referred to as “Grandma Bobbi”. She will be dearly missed by her son, Andrew (Hannah) Brown and their sons, Elijah and Jonas of Eau Claire; daughter, Katie (Andy Walker) Brown, and their son, Bert of Madison. She is also survived by her mother, Bonnie of Mondovi and a brother, Craig (Cathy) Miles of River Falls and their daughter, Kelli (Chase) Hedlund of Hudson. Bobbi was preceded in death by her father, Don Miles and a nephew, Mark Miles.

Bobbi received her Master’s Degree in Education and spent decades working as a reading specialist in the Waupaca School District. She was a fierce advocate for children, and taught many to read. She was also an active member of the Waupaca community which was exhibited through her devotion to many organizations including the Bread Basket, Project Backpack, leading the figure skating club, working with the First United Methodist youth groups, and Appalachia Service Project trips. Bobbi had a lifelong love of music and was a patron of the performing arts; this love was passed on to her kids. She was an avid reader and enjoyed hosting neighborhood parties, football potlucks, school gatherings and planning road trips with friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the Maple Crest Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Fletcher officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at ThedaCare at Home Hospice, ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Crossroads Care Center and Bethany Home. Thank you also to the many special friends that visited her and helped with her care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Bread Basket or Project Backpack of Waupaca.
