Amherst tops W-F

Indians to host Wild Rose

Weyauwega-Fremont dropped recent Central Wisconsin Conference East Division boys’ basketball games to Amherst and Wittenberg-Birnamwood.

Amherst handed the Indians a 72-46 loss Feb. 16 and W-F also came up on the short end of a 59-48 score Feb. 8 to Wittenberg-Birnamwood.

The Indians had a 16-12 lead over the Falcons, but Amherst ended the first half with a 29-6 run to take a 41-22 lead into the locker room.

Amherst then outscored the visitors 31-24 in the second half.

Kolden Baehman led the Indians with 12 points, while Amherst’s Mason Wideman led all scorers with 25.

W-B 59, W-F 48
The Chargers outscored the Indians 35-16 in the first half, but W-F had a 32-24 advantage in the second half.

Baehman led all players with 21 points and Kody Szews scored 19 points for the Chargers.
The Indians will wrap up the regular season by hosting Wild Rose at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22.
