OWI, felony bail jumping charged

One month after entering a deferred prosecution agreement, a man was arrested for OWI.

Dylan L. Hemingson, 25, Waupaca, is charged with felony bail jumping and a second offense of operating while intoxicated.

At 2:30 a.m. Sunday, April 22, Sgt. Kevin Studzinski and Deputy Bryan Strobusch, with the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, were northbound on Otter Drive in Farmington when they saw the vehicle in front of them drifting into the southbound lane.

According to the criminal complaint, the gold 2000 Buick Century would be completely in the wrong lane when rounding curves.

The officers activated their emergency lights to make a traffic stop on Otter Drive, about one-quarter mile south of State Highway 54.

The driver, identified as Hemingson, parked his vehicle on the left side of the road.

A preliminary breath test indicated Hemingson had a .162 blood-alcohol level.

On March 23, Hemingson pleaded guilty to a felony charge of fleeing an officer and a traffic citation for reckless driving.

Judge Troy Nielsen withheld judgment on the felony, and Hemingson entered into a deferred prosecution agreement. His $1,000 signature bond was continued.

Hemingson is now scheduled for a hearing on May 8 to determine if his agreement will be revoked.
