Bucholz, Wesley C.

Wesley Charles Bucholz, age 80, of Shawano passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in Shawano.

Wes was born on February 17, 1938 in Shawano, the son of the late George and Mary (Ziemer) Bucholz. He graduated from Gresham High School in 1956. On October 11, 1957, he was united in marriage to Joyce Ribbich in Shawano. Wes coached little league and Babe Ruth in Clintonville. He was proud of the fact that one of the players he coached won a World Series with the Kansas City Royals. Wesley loved bowling and was even inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame. As a devoted member of Church on the Hill, he spent a lot of time cutting the lawn and volunteering at the Red Barn. Wesley was involved with the city government, Shawano Senior Citizens Commission, AMVETS, and was the past president of the AARP, for whom he handed out student scholarships. In his free time, he enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Wesley is survived by: his wife of 60 years, Joyce; three children, Wesley “Lucky” (Toni) Bucholz, Craig Bucholz and Dennis Bucholz all of Shawano; grandson, Jarod Bucholz; step-granddaughter, Melissa (Dylan) Seefeldt of Shawano; and two step-great-granddaughters, Andromeda and Kharma. He is further survived by his sister, Georgia Page of Shawano; nieces and nephews, David (Debbie) Page, John Page, Sharon (Wayne) Hovind, Marlene (Jim) Krizek and Donna (Dean) Bratz. He was preceded in death by: his parents; one brother in infancy; and brother-in-law, Rueben “Fritz” Page.

Funeral services for Wes will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 14, 2018 at Church on the Hill in Shawano with Rev. Claudia Deede officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the AMVETS Post #10. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. www.swedbergfuneralhome.com
