Morgan, Angela A.

Angela A. Morgan, age 53, of Scandinavia, WI, passed away May 9, 2018. She died peacefully at home.

She was born in Waupaca on April 25, 1965. She was the daughter of Gene and Darlene Abrahamson. Angie enjoyed spending time with her family, her dogs, gardening and photography. She was a 1983 graduate of Waupaca High School, received a B.S. from UW-Stout in 1988 and an M.S. from Eastern Illinois University in 1990. Angie began her career as the Assistant Dean of Students for the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida, a position she also held at Carthage College, Kenosha, WI. She found her niche in advocating for those who were marginalized and those who had difficulty communicating. She first worked with autistic children as an area coordinator with Autism and Behavioral Consultants and also with Beyond Boundaries of Autism (Goodwill). Angie also served as Director of Social Services at both Manawa Community Nursing Center and Weyauwega Healthcare. She had recently begun working for Community Care, Inc.

Survivors include her husband, Steve Morgan, Scandinavia, WI; her mother, Darlene Abrahamson, Waupaca, WI; her sister, Lorie (Trav) Hardy, Lake Mills, WI; her niece, Morgan, Minneapolis, MN; her aunt and uncle, Leah and Dodge Brooks, Fremont, WI; and her cousin, Ron Brooks, Waupaca, WI. She is also survived by many other nieces, nephews and cousins. Angie was preceded in death by her father, Gene Abrahamson (2009) and her younger brother, Casey Abrahamson (1995).

A memorial service will be held in the Garden of Blessings at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 415 S. Main St., Waupaca, WI at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018. The Maple Crest Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
