Meth bust in Waupaca

A state trooper arrested a driver for a fifth OWI at 10:30 in the morning.

David G. Ingles, 58, Amherst, faces a felony charge of operating while under the influence of a resticted substance, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He has also been cited for failure to yield for an emergency vehicle, operating left of the center line, speeding and inattentive driving.

At 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, a state patrol officer observed a 2015 Volkswagen Passat crossing the center line and the fog line on State Highway 54 at Foxfire Drive in Waupaca multiple times.

The driver, identified as Ingles, was pulled over for speeding and inattentive driving.

After Ingles allegedly failed the field sobriety tests, the trooper found methamphetamine in the vehicle.

He was released from custody after posting a $2,000 cash bond.

If convicted, Ingles faces up to 10 years in prison.
