Stampede raises funds for trail

Manawa Little Wolf River Trail Committee will hold its 10th annual Stampede 5K/10K run/walk at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, June 30.

The race begins and ends at Lindsay Park, located at 101 S. Bridge St.

This is a traffic controlled and chip-timed event.

Participants must registrate by June 15 to be guaranteed a T-shirt.

The registration fee is $20 for adults and $15 for children age 12 and under.

Groups of four or more will be charged $18 for adults and $13 for children age 12 and under.

People may sign up at active.com or obtain a printable entry form at www.thelittlewolfrivertrails.

Pre-Registration will take place from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 29, at Lindsay Park. Participants may also register from 6-7:15 a.m. on the day of the race.

According to Ann Wade, the Manawa Little Wolf River Trail Committee continues working on the growth and maintenance of these trails.

“In the past few years, we’ve added Highway B paved section and with the help of donations and volunteers, paved Beech Street trail,” Wade said. “This has created a safe route to school and safe walkway for the public as well.”

The race course will include these trails, and the 10k course will also include the newest paved trail along Beech Street, which is just one of the projects that has been completed with funds raised from this event.

The Manawa Little Wolf River Trail Committee is always in need of committee members, volunteers and donations.
