Clintonville woman jailed

A woman was evicted from her apartment, then ordered to leave her mother’s house.

She is currently residing in jail on new charges.

On Feb. 15, Alexis Workman, 22, Clintonville, was charged with taking a vehicle without consent, felony theft and criminal damage to property.

She was released from custody on a $2,000 signature bond with the condition that she not commit any crimes.

On Feb. 27, Workman failed to make a scheduled court appearance and Judge Raymond Huber ordered a warrant for her arrest.

That same day, Workman called her attorney, asked for a continuance and the warrant was quashed.

On May 21, Workman failed to appear in court, but she called to report she did not have a ride.

The hearing was rescheduled for June 19.

On June 19, Workman again failed to appear in court  and Huber ordered a warrant for her arrest.

That same day, in an unrelated civil case, Huber ordered that Workman be evicted from her apartment in Marion and granted a writ of restitution to Workman’s landlord.

According to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s office, deputies had tried unsuccessfully to serve a notice to Workman on two occasions prior to the eviction hearing.

On June 21, Workman’s mother called Clintonville police and asked that her daughter be removed from the house.

When officers arrived, they reported finding Workman hiding in the basement.

The mother told police Workman walked into the house at 4:30 a.m. with her 2-year-old child.

She accused Workman of swearing and yelling and throwing a plate against the wall, the complaint says.

Workman was arrested and charged with felony bail jumping and disorderly conduct.

She remains in custody on a $500 cash bond.
