Frances I. Dexter, age 99, New London, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Kindred Hearts in New London.
She was born on July 14, 1918 in New London, daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Peterson) Longrie. On July 22, 1937, Frances was united in marriage to John Lipke; he preceded her in death in 1964. She married Elmer Dexter on September 14, 1968; he preceded her in death in 1993. Frances was a stay at home mom and then worked at the Ben Franklin Store in New London and also at the Hortonville Toy Factory. She loved getting together with family, enjoyed her pets and her plants. Frances was a caregiver by nature and was always willing to help others. She was a longtime member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, New London.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Fran Barrington, Weyauwega; grandchildren: Chris (Mike) Davis, Eric Barrington, Karie (Pete) Thorpe, and Deb Jaeger; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, two daughters, Donna Jaeger and Dede Lipke; son-in-law, Bill Barrington; grandson Scott Jaeger and ten siblings.
Funeral Services for Frances will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at First Congregational United Church of Christ in New London with Rev. Greg Watling officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the First Congregational United Church of Christ (110 E. Hancock Street, New London, WI 54961).
