Warnke, Philip

Philip Warnke, age 64, New London, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018, at UW Madison Hospital due to complications from surgery.

He was born on February 19, 1954 in New London, son of the late William and Vera (Parfitt) Warnke. On December 3, 1977, Philip was united in marriage to Theresa Campbell. He worked at Curwood/Bemis for the past 31 years and was past President of the United Steelworkers Local #2-1970. Before starting his career at Curwood, he was a dairy farmer in Fremont. Philip enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. He loved Skittles and always had a bag by his side.

Philip is survived by his wife Theresa; children: Heather (Aaron) Menting, Appleton; Philip Jr. Warnke, New London; Jason (Darby) Warnke, Appleton and Ashley (Justin) Diem, New London; grandchildren: Alex, Makenna, Riley, Brooklyn, Kierce, Kree and Benjamin; two brothers, William (Judy) Warnke, Mukwonago and Paul Warnke (Bill Gardner) Austin, TX; three sisters, Mary (Nick) Meyer, Randolph; Jean (Frank) Newton, Salt Lake City, UT and Kathy (Tom) Zacharyasz, Menomonee Falls and a sister-in-law, Karen Warnke, Menomonee Falls. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. His parents and a brother David preceded him in death.

A Celebration of Philip’s life will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 12 noon to 5:00 p.m. at the Hatten Park Shelter #3 (casual attire). The Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London is serving the family. www.clinehansonfuneralhome.com
