Mary S. Gorges, New London, age 94, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at St. Joseph Residence.
She was born on April 8, 1924 in Atlanta, Nebraska, daughter of the late Henry and Alvina (Pingel) Schneider. She graduated from Appleton West High School in 1942. Mary was united in marriage to Clifford Gorges on August 23, 1947. He preceded her in death in 2012. She worked as the secretary at Parkview Elementary School in New London for 18 years.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Jim) Reed, Henderson, Nevada; Barbara (Paul) Baldwin, Mellen; and Darcie (Robert) Lehman, New London; grandchildren, Brett (Rhea) Romberg; Megan (Adam) Helt-Baldwin and Devon Lehman; great-grandson, Jacob Romberg. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, George (Sarah) Schneider and Henry (Mabel) Schneider and a sister Mabel (Homer) Klotzbach.
Funeral services for Mary will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Residence Chapel, New London with Rev. Mark Tiefel officiating. Visitation will be held at the chapel on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in the St. John’s Cemetery, Town of Caledonia.
