Turner: Travel center staff help save heart attack victim

On July 24, Jerry Hansen had a massive heart attack while driving his pickup in the parking lot of the Waupaca Mobil Travel Center on West Fulton Street.

His pickup went out of control and hit two diesel pumps, shearing both of them off at their pedestals before coming to a stop.

Steve Klismet and his auto mechanic crew instantly sprang into action, running out to Jerry’s truck, putting it into park, and immediately applying CPR and resuscitating Jerry’s heartbeat.

Everyone did exactly what needed to be done, moving like clockwork and staying calm without panicking.

No doubt, these men helped save Jerry’s life.

All the friends of Jerry Hansen want to express a grateful appreciation to Steve Klismet, Dan Frank, Jeff Reed, Aaron Larson, Daniel Beaver and Jimmy Intribus for their bravery and quick action.
