Nona B. Hagen of Waupaca, age 100, a wonderful woman was called home on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.
She was born in Verona, WI on July 5, 1918 to the late George and Mabel (Beard) Way. Nona was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she had been active in Bethel Circle. She was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Women’s Army Corp. Nona had been a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Gray Ladies at the Wisconsin Veterans Home. Nona enjoyed making crafts of all kinds, playing cards and scrabble. She was a kind and loving woman, who was generous with her time and talents.
She was the beloved mother of: Dale (Audrey) Hagen of Verona; Phillip Hagen, Howard Hagen, Susan Hagen- Wesche and Julie (Patrick) Hagen-Coenen all of Waupaca; Marilee (special friend, Jerry McKeever) Hagen of Weyauwega; grandchildren: Tim (Mary Lou) Hagen, Amy Hagen, Jackilee Severin, Michael (Samantha) Hagen, Evan (Andrea) Hagen, Steve (Brianna) Hagen, Valerie (Lance) Gabrielson, Seth (Danielle) Hanson, Claire Hanson, Travis Wesche, Grace (John Wagner) Wesche, Sam (Stephanie Roehrig) Coenen and Eli Coenen; 17 great-grandchildren, sisters, Georgia Post of Mt. Horeb, Gloria (Philip) Craker of Reedsburg; sister-in-law, Audrey Way of Mt. Horeb, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Hagen; daughter, Linda Hagen; daughter-in-law, Linda Hagen; brother, Noel Way; sister, Florence Rudd; grandsons, Nebadon Wesche and Todd Hagen; great-grandson, Alexander Severin.
The Funeral Service will be on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 206 E. Badger St., Waupaca. The visitation will be on Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the American Legion or Trinity Lutheran Church. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
