Waupaca County sheriff’s report Aug. 20

• Aug. 19 – Caller from the 200 block of South Franklin Street, Waupaca, reported that the driver of a tan Dodge pickup hit a small white car in a downtown Waupaca parking lot, then left.

• Aug. 19 – Caller from the 700 block of Leighton Road, Waupaca, reported that his garage door was damaged during an attempted break-in.

• Aug. 19 – Caller from the 1100 block of West Beckert Road, New London, reported that her ex-boyfriend is harassing her via text messages. She said she was worried he would come to her home.

• Aug. 19 – Iola man called and said his 12-year-old son made suicidal remarks while he was at his mother’s house in Omro.

• Aug. 19 – Caller from the N3700 block of Pine Ridge Drive, New London, reported that her daughter’s credit card had been stolen.

• Aug. 18 – McDonald’s in New London reported that a driver in a gray Chevy Blazer was passed out in the middle of the drive-thru.

• Aug. 18 – Caller from Odessa Court, Waupaca, reported that he fell asleep in the basement and when he woke up his grandchildren were missing. “He seems very confused,” according to the communications officer.

• Aug. 18 – Caller from the N11500 block of County Trunk DD, Clintonville, reported that someone broke into his garage by removing a window. Tires and rims worth between $800-$1,000 were reported stolen.

• Aug. 18 – Caller from the N1800 block of Shambeau Trace, Waupaca, reported that her estranged husband took their 13-year-old son with him. She said he is currently on probation.

• Aug. 18 – Caller from the 400 block of Division Street, Iola, reported that a kid spray-painted a fence and a decorative stone.

• Aug. 18 – Ramada Grand Seasons, Waupaca, reported that an intoxicated guest was assaulting people.

• Aug. 17 – Waupaca Mobil Travel Center, West Fulton Street, Waupaca, reported the theft of a red flatbed truck.

• Aug. 17 – Caller from the N3100 block of Silver Lake Drive, Waupaca, reported that a rear license plate was taken from his vehicle. He didn’t realize it until his son was pulled over by a Hortonville officer.

• Aug. 17 – Waupaca County 911 received at least four calls in the Waupaca area reporting what sounded like a loud explosion.

• Aug. 17 – A Fremont woman reported that a landlord discriminated against her because of her tattoos. He had agreed to rent a place to her until he saw her.

• Aug. 17 – Waupaca police responded to a reported overdose.

• Aug. 17 – Staff at Wisconsin Veterans Home in King reported finding a 69-year-old resident with marijuana.

• Aug. 17 – A cellphone caller in Waupaca reported seeing a shirtless man who appeared to be intoxicated walking in traffic.
• Aug. 17 – Caller from 200 block of Lake Street, Weyauwega, reported that a $7,000 stereo was stolen from his vehicle.

• Aug. 17 – Caller from the 500 block of South State Street, Waupaca, reported that a woman who lives a block away came over to his house with bloody knuckles and said her boyfriend threw her through a window.

• Aug. 16 – Caller from the 200 block of Emerald Street, Weyauwega, reported that a woman refused to leave his residence and he needed to go to work.

• Aug. 16 – Caller from the E9300 block of Justin Trail, Caledonia, reported that someone crashed in the driveway, drove across the lawn and left deep gouges.

• Aug. 16 – Caller reported that someone hit his 2005 Pontiac while he was in the Waupaca Pick n Save.

• Aug. 16 – Caller reported that three men appeared to be living under the bridge near Rotary Riverview Park in Waupaca. He said they have been bathing in the river by the stage and hanging out for almost a week.

• Aug. 15 – Caller from the 700 block of Anna Avenue, Fremont, reported that a man in his underwear was yelling at people.

• Aug. 15 – Caller from the 200 block of Sunset Drive, Iola, reported that his roommate took his vehicle to Texas with no intention of returning it.

• Aug. 15 – Caller from the 600 block of St. Lawrence St., Ogdensburg, reported that his estranged wife was harassing him. He said she came over to his house and banged on the door hard enough to make things fall off the wall.

• Aug. 14 – Caller from the N10500 block of Fly Inn Road, Clintonville, reported that a man came to her home, pounded on the doors, screamed obscenities and peeked into her windows.

• Aug. 14 – New London caller reported that her boyfriend called and said he took fentanyl five minutes earlier and she had no idea where he was.

• Aug. 13 – Waupaca caller said a person she didn’t know texted her that her stepson was shooting up and she only knows he was staying with a woman on Bailey Street.

• Aug. 13 – Caller from the N2600 block of Park Lane Drive, Waupaca, reported that someone hit their car overnight.

Traffic
A driver hit a pedestrian at the intersection of County Trunk B and River Road in the town of Little Wolf shortly before 8 p.m. on Aug. 9.

Jeremyah D. Zander, 22, Manawa, was driving a pickup northbound on River Street when he encountered a pedestrian who was in the middle of the road.

According to deputies, the pedestrian, identified as Bart Prahl, 46, River Street, Manawa, jumped onto the hood of the truck, began punching the windshield, then punched the driver in the face.

Zander drove through the stop sign, accelerated and turned left.

Prahl fell off the hood and was hit by the trailer that Zander was towing.

Zander was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and operating a vehicle without insurance.
