Another Waupaca Area Triathlon is in the books.

More than 500 competitors showed up for the 18th annual event, held Aug. 18.

The triathlon’s long course included a half-mile swim in Shadow Lake, a 19-mile bike ride south of Waupaca and a 3-mile run on city streets.

Madison’s Lance Douglas turned in the fastest time among males, as he completed the long course in 1:19:51. Sue Pierson of Green Bay had the fastest overall time among females, as she crossed the finish line in South Park in 1:26:43.
