Meth bust in city park

Ehlke

Suspect was free on bond when he was arrested.

Brandon D. Ehlke, 22, Clintonville, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, felony bail jumping and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Shortly after midnight on Aug. 27. a 911 caller reported that Ehlke was in Bucholtz Park in Clintonville with two other men when he flashed a gun by lifting his shirt.

Clintonville Police Officer Tyler Bartel responded to the area and stopped three men, one of whom he recognized as Ehlke.

According to the criminal complaint, when Bartel first saw Ehlke he appeared to be carrying a backpack. Ehlke did not have a back pack when Bartel questioned him.

The officer later found the backpack under a cedar tree.

Inside the backpack were several small plastic gem bags, some of which contained white crystals that tested positive for meth, the complaint says.

Bartel reported that he did  not find a weapon. Instead, Ehlke had a silver Gerber tool in his waistband.

This is the third felony case filed against Ehlke this year.

On April 25, Ehlke was charged in Waupaca County  with three counts of burglary and three counts of theft as party to a crime.

Initially held on a $1,500 cash bond, Ehlke was released from custody on a $5,000 signature bond on July 26.

On Feb. 19 in Shawano County, Ehlke was charged with four counts of felon in possession of a firearm and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

He remained in custody on a $5,000 cash bond until it was amended to $2,000 cash, which he posted on March 6.

After his most recent arrest, Waupaca County released Ehlke from jail on Aug. 28 after he posted a $500 cash bond.
