Kurki scores five touchdowns

Connor Kurki scored five rushing touchdowns and added another one through the air to lead Iola-Scandinavia to a 55-9 Central Wisconsin Large Conference win over Weyauwega-Fremont Aug. 31 at Thunderbird Field.
Carter Snyder returned a dropped ball 31 yards for another touchdown and Cole Erdman scored from 7 yards out. Kurki’s touchdown pass went to Will Cady.
Weyauwega-Fremont’s first score of the game came after the Indians stopped Iola-Scandinavia’s Will Tappa in the end zone for a safety in the third quarter. Max Meyerhofer scored the Indians’ lone touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Weyauwega-Fremont will host Bonduel at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7. The Thunderbirds are also home Sept. 7 and will host Wittenberg-Birnamwood.
